Hi, I’m Rebecca.

I’m a freelance science journalist and poet based in New York City. Previously, I’ve reported on health and medicine as an intern at STAT, and covered science, health, and the environment as an intern for CalMatters, a publication covering California state policy. I have also completed a science reporting fellowship at Mashable. I graduated from NYU’s Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting Program (SHERP) with a Master of Arts in Journalism in 2020, and from Skidmore College in 2019 with a Bachelors degree in English. I write articles about science’s intersection with society, culture, and policy, as well as poetry on various topics, including science. When I’m not writing, I enjoy playing fiddle music and contra dancing. My last name rhymes with “stone.”
